about

Wooden Foot, the upcoming EP from Montreal-based songwriter Holly McLachlan is a textural and psychedelic meditation on trauma, consciousness and love. The five songs are built up from Mclachlan’s compositions for acoustic guitar and vocals. Inspired by the late-sixties live recordings of Tim Buckley and Pentangle, this EP includes upright bass, auxiliary percussion, violin and electric guitar. The cover art features a diagram pulled from ‘The Politics of Experience’ by Scottish psychologist R.D. Laing, a text that was very important to McLachlan in the conception and writing of this record. Wooden Foot is set to be released March 2, 2024, and in the meantime McLachlan is moving into the realms of musical theatre and performance art to synthesize her different practices and passions for the stage.
